companies bill

The Companies Bill, the second phase of the corporate law reform process, was published on 27 June 2008 and it is expected to take effect in 2010.  In the interim, the Companies Act, 1973, as amended by the Corporate Laws Amendment Act, which took effect on 14 December 2007, prevails.

Please find attached the Companies Bill [B61-2008] and further information relating to the comment process.

Comment Process:
The Portfolio Committee on Trade and Industry intends holding public hearings on the Companies Bill [B61-2008] on 11, 12, 13 and 15 August 2008.
