A total of 12 black candidate legal practitioners serving their articles at Group firms nationwide have just been awarded 12 bursaries with a combined value of R240,000.

This Phatshoane Henney Group support promotes the overall growth of black professionals in the Group. By awarding these bursaries, Group firms are benefited by being able to procure quality black candidate attorneys and to reach their set targets for the appointment and development of black professionals in their firm.

These bursaries were funded by the Phatshoane Henney Foundation, the Group's registered non-profit charitable trust.

The candidates who received bursaries, are:

  • Muhammed Ahmed Ismail, candidate legal practitioner at DBM Attorneys
  • Simisha Premlal, candidate legal practitioner at DBM Attorneys
  • Luyanda Mbatha, candidate legal practitioner at DBM Attorneys
  • Aqeelah Petersen, candidate legal practitioner at Millers Inc.
  • Mikayla Delport, candidate legal practitioner at Van Der Spuy & Partners
  • Charllite Philander, candidate legal practitioner at Joubert Van Vuuren Inc.
  • Nhlankanipho Jiyane, candidate legal practitioner at Seymore du Toit & Basson Inc.
  • Sinovuyo Maqungo, candidate legal practitioner at Seymore du Toit & Basson Inc.
  • Clyde Curran, candidate legal practitioner at Miller Bosman Le Roux Attorneys
  • Misché September, candidate legal practitioner at Drake Flemmer & Orsmond Inc.
  • Deodat Herman, candidate legal practitioner at Terblanche Slabber Pieters inc.
  • Lerato Rapodile, candidate legal practitioner at Van de Wall Inc.
