Only certificates issued by accredited verification agencies valid 17 April 2009
The Minister of Trade and Industry has issued a notice that as from 1 August 2009, only certificates issued by accredited verification agencies will be valid.
In terms of notice 354 of 2009 published in Government Gazette No 32094 of 9 April 2009, only BEE verification certificates issued by the Accredited Verification Agencies or Verification Agencies that are in possession of a valid pre-assessment letter from the South African National Accreditation Systems, will be valid and these certificates will be valid for a period of 12 months from the date of issue thereof.
However, all verification certificates issued by non-accredited verification agencies prior to the publication of the aforementioned Governement Gazette will remain valid for a period of 12 months calculated from 9 April 2009.
