One of the cornerstones of a law firm is its professional staff, and to ensure good quality professional staff, firms have to appoint high-quality candidate legal practitioners.

To assist firms to recruit high-quality candidate legal practitioners, PH Attorneys annually host the virtual PH Group Open Week on behalf of the Group. This programme provides students from across South Africa with the opportunity to meet and engage with different firms in the Group. 

Because the programme takes place virtually, students across South Africa can attend at practically zero cost. The format takes on the form of back-to-back Zoom sessions during which a senior professional in each firm has 30 minutes to tell the students more about their firm, followed by a Q&A session during which students have the chance to engage with the speaker and ask questions. 

Not only does the online platform reach students nationwide, but it also allows firms and students to partake from the comfort of their own offices and homes, bringing potential employers and employees together in a convenient yet efficient manner. 

This year, we had an incredible turnout of 1,987 students attending the 2023 Virtual Open Week, with presentations from 34 participating firms.

A number of firms have reported receiving applications following the Open Week, proving that this unique recruitment drive not only assists firms in their selection process but creates valuable exposure for all parties involved.
